Hi, this is my AS Media blog. It contains research and planning for my coursework production (slasher opening) and media exam. I'm in a group with Kate and Poppy. The working title of our production is Camp Ivy. Our production is strongly influenced by films such as Friday the 13th, and its set in a rural location like in Eden Lake.

Globally-dominant conglomerate film companies.
CONGLOMERATE: A coglomerate company is a company which owns many other companies (subsidiary) e.g NBC Universal owns
SUBSIDIARY: A subsidiary is a company which is owned by a conglomerate e.g Working Title is owned by NBC Universal
Here are the big 7 film studios today. Lionsgate Entertainment was originally not included but in recent years it has had a lot of success

VERTICAL Intergration: Is when one conglomerate company controls production, distribution and exhibition of a film.
HORIZONTAL Intergration: Is when different subsidiaries of a conglomerate company work together for mutual gain. Not necessarily subsidiarys from the same conglomerate.
